When a building's voice-alarm system has to grow beyond what a single controller can drive, the EV PROS8Z is the expansion chassis that carries the load. It is the slave unit of Proel's VAE modular audio-evacuation platform (24 V dc version), engineered to sit alongside the EV PROM5Z master matrix and add up to eight more amplifier/line-control modules to the system — so a designer can scale loudspeaker zones simply by adding slaves rather than re-engineering the whole rack. Crucially for a life-safety installation, the EV PROS8Z is EN 54-16 certified and delivers the supervised functions demanded by EN 60849, EN 54-16 and BS 5839-8: it monitors the integrity of its amplifier and loudspeaker lines and signals status at a glance through dedicated Power, Fault-Warning and Voice-Alarm LEDs. A spare-amplifier input lets the system fail over to a back-up amplifier so a single fault never silences a zone, and four RJ45 connectors chain the slave cleanly to the master matrix and onward to the next slave. Housed in a standard 2U 19" rack frame and powered from the system's 24 V dc supply, it integrates into a certified evacuation rack without surprises.
