Hand each loudspeaker zone in a Proevac EVO emergency voice-alarm system the brain it needs to stay safe and to keep talking. The EV MCL1Z is the Line-A zone controller card that slots into the EV PROM5Z master or EV PROS8Z slave matrix and takes full charge of one 100V loudspeaker line: it drives a dedicated EN54-16 power amplifier, distributes the audio to the speakers, and continuously supervises both the amp and the line with an inaudible 18kHz pilot tone — so the system spots a failed amplifier, a cut cable, a short, an earth fault or even a single missing loudspeaker without ever interrupting music or announcements. Two supervised message-trigger inputs let fire-panel contacts launch up to two zone-specific pre-recorded messages, while built-in BUSY and FAULT LEDs put the status of that zone on the rack at a glance. Used on its own it controls one line; paired with an EV MCL2Z slot to its right, the same card delivers redundant A/B line architecture from a single amplifier — the proven, certified building block (0068-CPD-014) for scalable Proevac EVO installations up to 108 zones.
Features
- Drop-in Line-A controller for Proevac EVO - slots into EV PROM5Z master or EV PROS8Z slave, one card per zone, configurable in mixed redundant/non-redundant systems
- Continuous EN54-16 supervision of the dedicated power amplifier and the 100V loudspeaker line via inaudible 18kHz pilot tone — detects load loss, overload, short, open and earth-leakage without interrupting program audio
- Automatic fail-over to the rack's spare amplifier within seconds when the primary amp faults - keeps the zone alive without manual intervention
- Two supervised dry-contact inputs trigger zone-specific pre-recorded messages (e.g. evac, alert) from the master uSD, with cable cut/short detection on both
- Auto-calibration sets line voltage to nominal 100V and locks the 0dB reference so every later measurement compares to a known-good baseline
- Front BUSY (broadcast active) and FAULT LEDs plus master-display zone status make commissioning and troubleshooting a glance, not a guess
- Plug-in PCB module with screw terminals for amplifier I/O, 100V line output and message contacts — install or swap with the unit powered down, no rewiring of the rack
