When the mains fails, an EN54 voice-alarm system cannot be allowed to go silent - evacuation messages have to keep playing. The Proel PA 48VDCER1 is the 48 V DC emergency power supply and battery charger that guarantees exactly that. Sitting in a single 19" 1U rack slot, it runs the system from the mains while continuously charging and supervising an external 48 V battery bank, then switches the entire system onto battery the instant mains power is lost - with a momentary output dip of no more than 1.5 V. Its built-in microprocessor-controlled charger keeps batteries (up to 200 Ah of VRLA-AGM) at the right temperature-compensated float or bulk voltage, tests battery-circuit resistance, and protects against deep discharge through a Low-Voltage Disconnect. Six high-current 48 V outputs feed up to six 500 W EVAC amplifiers, while separate fused Aux outputs power controllers, routers and call stations that must never lose supply. Four front-panel LEDs and three volt-free relay outputs report mains, battery, charging and fault status locally and to the head-end, and an onboard USB port (with optional Ethernet / Modbus TCP) gives technicians full diagnostics and remote supervision. EN54-4 certified, it is the dependable power backbone of a Proel modular voice-alarm installation.
